On Friday, 185 traffic accidents were registered in Latvia, in which 16 people were injured, including five cyclists and two pedestrians, the State Police reported to the LETA agency.
Five drivers were arrested by the police yesterday for driving under the influence of alcohol. Four of them were behind the wheel of vehicles in such a serious state of intoxication that they will face criminal charges with confiscation of the vehicle or recovery of the value of the vehicle used in the offense.
Due to speeding, 258 protocols were issued yesterday. One driver was fined for aggressive driving style.
In total, the police issued 510 protocols for traffic violations yesterday.
