Investments in the strategic EU city are coming from Germany.

In the locality of Auvere near Narva, construction is underway for the Auvere Gaas plant – the cornerstone was recently laid. Igor Berman, a member of the board, spoke to the media about plans to extract pure oxygen from the atmospheric air for medical purposes and microelectronics, as well as nitrogen and argon for industry, and the role of future technologies.

Auvere Gaas is owned by Elme Messer Gaas, co-owned by the Estonian industrial group BLRT and the largest German private gas company Messer.

Igor Berman, a board member of Auvere Gaas and Elme Messer Gaas, stated that the plant is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027. The production of medical oxygen will still need to be certified. Berman hopes this will be completed in the first, at most in the second quarter of next year.

The gas plant in Auvere is planned to have 22 jobs, but the staff may increase as operations scale up. Workers are currently undergoing training. Finding specialists with the necessary profession and qualifications has been challenging, but this is a problem across the entire industry in Estonia, added Igor Berman.
