In the first two months of this year, Riga Airport serviced about 878,000 passengers, which is 2% less than in the same period last year, the LETA agency was informed by the airport.
At the same time, in the first two months of this year, 8,486 flights were serviced, which is 2% less than in the same period last year, while the volume of processed air cargo increased by 42% to 4,303 tons.
In February, Riga Airport serviced 435,000 passengers and 4,127 flights, which corresponds to the same month last year. In February, 21% of passengers used Riga Airport as a transfer point for further flights.
In February, 2,342 tons of air cargo were processed, which is 69% more than in February 2025.
The airport explained that the increase in cargo volume is related to the cooperation of the airline "Fly Khiva" with "Latvijas Pasts" and the launch of regular cargo flights from Asia.
Last year, Riga Airport serviced 7.111 million passengers, which corresponds to the level of 2024.
