Senior Vice President Resigns from airBaltic – Does He Know Something?

Imants Jansons, Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs of the Latvian national airline airBaltic, has left his position, according to his message on LinkedIn.

He writes that he is completing an important 14-year stage of work at airBaltic.

"I have had the privilege of being at the forefront and witnessing the transformation of airBaltic into a truly modern and respected airline," noted Jansons.

He emphasized that he is proud of the achievements of the legal department of airBaltic and also mentioned that in aviation, professionalism and a strong team are more important than ever.

"Now a few weeks of rest, and then the next stage will begin," he wrote. What stage that is, the former airBaltic employee did not disclose.

Jansons has worked at airBaltic since 2012.

Under his leadership, in 2024, the airBaltic group incurred audited losses of 118.159 million euros.

Currently, the Latvian state owns 88.37% of airBaltic shares, German Lufthansa holds 10%, and the remainder is owned by minor shareholders.
