The Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation reported a shortage of 12,000 specialists for road construction.
In Russia, there is a shortage of about 12,000 employees with higher and secondary vocational education in the field of road construction and maintenance. This was stated by Elena Boytsova, an auditor of the Accounts Chamber, at a round table in the Federation Council, according to the media.
The agency identifies violations in the planning and execution of road works every year, which is related to the lack of competencies in the field of road management among managers and high staff turnover.
Regions constantly inflate the volumes of accepted and paid road works, the cost of materials, and the initial price of contracts. In addition, works are regularly accepted for payment, the results of which do not meet the terms of the contracts.
Vladimir Lomakin, chairman of the All-Russian Trade Union of Road Transport Workers and Road Management, explained that the main problem remains the low wages of road workers. In the first six months of last year, it barely exceeded 60,000 rubles.
At the same time, employees have to work with worn-out equipment, as well as in difficult weather conditions and at any time of the day. There is simply no money in the road funds of Russian regions to change the situation. The economy of Russia leaves much to be desired.
