В такой корзиночке с цветами знаменитая артистка ушла в вечный покой.

The vine product is exclusively national and patented.

The pine coffin covered in biodegradable vine, chosen by Brigitte Bardot, was seen by the world at the actress's funeral on January 7. Since then, the workshop that made the 'iconic' coffin has been inundated with orders.

Even before the pandemic, the manager of the workshop for woven products received requests for vine coffins. They are permitted in England and Belgium, but not in France. It was necessary to base the coffin on a wooden model that met French standards and cover it with vine. A prototype made of pine was created in collaboration with a coffin-making workshop in the Somme department in northern France and patented.

The workshop is very proud that Brigitte Bardot chose their product. "I love my job. This coffin seems warm and cozy to me," shares one of the craftsmen.

Before the actress's funeral, only about 60 such coffins had been sold, and now dozens of orders for this model come in daily. People are purchasing coffins in advance and storing them at home. Moreover, resellers have already become active! The 'bohemian' coffin costs €1670 from the manufacturer, but €3500 from resellers.

The workshop for producing woven vine products employs 9 people. It can produce about 20 coffins a week. Each one takes 15 hours of work. At the same time, the workshop tries not only to weave coverings for coffins but also to fulfill orders from other clients who order baskets, such as bakers and pastry chefs.
