The two warring states continuously improve drone technologies.
Russian manufacturers are capable of supplying more than 15,000 FPV drones daily, said First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in an interview with the newspaper "Kommersant." "Given the high effectiveness of UAVs and their relatively low cost, domestic enterprises can already ensure the supply of over 15,000 units per day of just FPV drones, whereas in 2023 such a quantity was produced monthly," Manturov said.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the "special military operation" has established UAVs as one of the key elements of modern warfare. Drones have transformed from a supplementary reconnaissance tool into an independent strike component capable of addressing a wide range of tactical tasks.
Manturov noted that in recent years, specific directions for kamikaze drones and loitering munitions have emerged. At the same time, there has been an increased demand for complex reconnaissance and strike systems, accompanied by a rise in their production volumes.
"At the same time, the supply of all demanded positions is carried out within the deadlines set under the state defense order," Manturov said.
In September 2025, it was reported that new modular FPV drones "Klyuch-10" began to be mass-delivered to the troops. The main advantage of the modified drone is the ability to replace the video transmission module. This allows the military to quickly switch to new control frequencies.
For its part, Ukraine is capable of producing about 8-10 million drones per year (on average, this is more than 20,000 UAVs per day), however, the daily production volumes vary depending on the type of drones and targeted funding.
Production and application scales by categories:
Interceptor drones. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the production of such devices reaches 1,000 units per day.
Operational use. According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, between 7,000 to 9,000 drones (including FPV, reconnaissance, and logistical) are used daily on the front.
Long-range UAVs: Ukraine produces about 3,000 units of long-range devices monthly.
