In the Freeport of Riga, 1.413 million tons of cargo were handled in January, which is 4.3% less compared to January 2025, according to the data published by the port. In 2025, the cargo turnover of the Port of Riga amounted to 16.749 million tons, which is 7.3% less than the previous year.
In January of this year, the Port of Klaipeda handled almost 3.6 million tons of cargo – 8% more than in the same period last year. As noted in the report, compared to its closest neighbors — the ports of Latvia, Klaipeda has maintained its leading position.
