Switzerland and Liechtenstein have signed a declaration with the United States, based on which the U.S. will reduce tariffs on Swiss exports to 15%. This was reported by the Swiss government.

Recall that on April 2, Trump announced the introduction of tariffs for products from 185 countries and territories, which came into effect on August 7. The 39% tariffs on Swiss imports became the highest among tariffs for developed countries. In comparison, Latvia 'got away' with 15%. According to the current statement from the Swiss government, as part of the agreement, Swiss companies committed to invest about $200 billion in the U.S. by the end of 2028, including funding for education and training. "We have essentially reached an agreement with Switzerland. They are going to move significant volumes of production to the U.S., including pharmaceuticals and railway equipment. We are very pleased with this deal and what it means for American manufacturing," said U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer to CNBC. According to him, Switzerland will invest $70 billion next year in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and gold processing. Additionally, it intends to increase purchases of Boeing aircraft. Earlier, the Tribune de Genève reported that six Swiss billionaires, including executives of companies owning luxury brands Rolex and Cartier, met with Trump in Washington on November 4, hoping for a reduction in tariffs on Swiss imports.
