Latvian wooden furniture exports increased by 5.3% in the first eight months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, with the largest amount of wooden furniture sold to Denmark, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
In the first eight months of 2025, Latvia exported wooden furniture worth 131.163 million euros, including 36.482 million euros to Denmark, which accounts for 27.8% of the total wooden furniture export volume and is 7.2% more than in the first eight months of 2024. In the same period last year, Denmark accounted for 27.3% of wooden furniture exports.
In the first eight months, wooden furniture worth 12.948 million euros was exported to Germany, which is 4.3% less than the previous year, and to Sweden, it was 11.396 million euros, which is 0.6% more than in the same period last year. The export of wooden furniture to Germany constituted 9.9% (10.9% a year ago) of the total wooden furniture export volume, while the export to Sweden was 8.7% (9.1% a year ago).
In Latvia, wooden furniture worth 52.607 million euros was imported in the first eight months of this year, which is 8.6% less than in the first eight months of 2024.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the largest amount of wooden furniture imported into Latvia in the first eight months of this year came from Poland - 17.049 million euros, which is 2.6% less than in the same period last year, and accounted for 32.4% of the total wooden furniture import volume. Poland's share in furniture imports for the first eight months of 2024 was 30.4%.
In the first eight months, imports of wooden furniture from Lithuania amounted to 8.351 million euros, decreasing by 15.6% and accounting for 15.9% (17.2% a year ago) of the total wooden furniture import volume, while imports from China amounted to 4.445 million euros, decreasing by 21.4% compared to last year and accounting for 8.5% (9.8% a year ago) of the total wooden furniture import volume.
In the first eight months of 2024, Latvia exported wooden furniture worth 24.509 million euros and imported wooden furniture worth 57.548 million euros.
