U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticized major players in the oil market, stating that corporations are unfairly inflating fuel costs for American consumers.

According to the head of the White House, current retail gas prices do not align with market dynamics, where oil prices are decreasing rapidly.

In his statement, Trump emphasized that raw material prices are "falling like a stone," yet oil companies are not rushing to pass this decrease on to end consumers, which he called a direct "rip-off of customers." The president confirmed that he has already sent the appropriate instructions to the U.S. Department of Justice, demanding an immediate investigation into the situation. The head of state expressed confidence that gas prices at filling stations should start to fall much faster than is currently observed.

This decision comes at a time when the energy market is showing signs of volatility, partly due to diplomatic shifts in relations between Washington and Tehran. Experts note that the anticipated opening of the Strait of Hormuz for tanker shipments following recent agreements has already contributed to a decrease in oil prices; however, this process has not yet sufficiently impacted the wallets of ordinary Americans. The president hopes that tough measures from law enforcement will compel the industry to reconsider its pricing policy in the interests of the country's citizens.
