The publication will be able to 'deconstruct distorted concepts used for specific purposes.'
The Anadolu Agency (AA) has prepared a book titled 'Dictionary of Palestine', consisting of 1860 pages.
The 'Dictionary of Palestine', prepared by the agency in collaboration with 273 academics and researchers from various scientific fields, will be available to readers as a result of two years of work.
The book contains 630 articles and more than 700 cross-references, offering a user-friendly approach through reading guides, interconnections between articles, and recommendations for additional literature. The publication, aimed at readers of all levels, is intended to serve as a reference for reading groups and facilitate the work of researchers. For those seeking answers to fundamental questions related to Palestine, the book provides them in alphabetical order.
The work, aimed at providing a clear guide to the literature and reaching the widest possible audience, will contribute to combating information pollution in this area, deconstruct distorted concepts used for specific purposes, demonstrate the correct use of terms through examples from a wide range of topics, raise public awareness while maintaining a commitment to ethical values, serve as a reference source for obtaining reliable information on historical and contemporary issues, reveal connections between historical and current events or concepts, and become a handbook for those who strive to approach research on this topic with the correct methodology. The publication includes equivalents of terms in Arabic, English, French, and German.
The 'Dictionary of Palestine' not only clarifies key concepts but also offers a systematic map of knowledge, allowing the reader to understand Palestine in all its aspects. Going beyond the classical understanding of a dictionary, the work includes 630 articles prepared with the rigor of academic publications across 15 editorial directions — from law to economics, from culture to art.
Covering a wide range of topics — from historical events to prominent figures, from legal concepts to cultural works — the dictionary examines the Palestinian issue in a historical and conceptual context, offering the reader a perspective that helps understand Palestine from different angles.
In the work, historical events that are claimed to have been distorted or concealed due to Zionist propaganda are presented accurately and based on sources. The articles, prepared with an interdisciplinary and holistic approach, are carefully interconnected. Each article is written as a brief scientific paper containing information supported by sources, and at the end of each article, a bibliography is provided.
The book also provides Arabic, English, French, and German equivalents for each article. A website will also be prepared.
The 'Dictionary of Palestine' reflects the AA's approach to responsible coverage of events and continues the agency's position on this topic, previously expressed in the 'Gaza Trilogy', which consists of the books 'Evidence', 'Witness', and 'Accused'.
The work, being the first of its kind, represents an 'indispensable' source not only for academics, researchers, and students but also for anyone seeking to understand the Palestinian issue correctly.
In addition, a website for the 'Dictionary of Palestine' will be created, which will be updated every three months.
