Russian occupiers have reached the outskirts of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region from many sides and continue to penetrate the city. After its capture, the Russians will have a path to seize the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. Source: monitoring and analytical project DeepState
Literally: "The situation around Konstantinovka is developing according to the most difficult scenario, as the enemy has literally come from all sides to the outskirts of the city, is exerting active pressure, and is penetrating deep into the settlement. There are observations of enemy infantry movements from the eastern part through Novodmytrivka and constant movements from the side of Berestke and Ilyinivka."
Details: Analysts note that the Russians have an advantage in manpower near the city and are gradually "moving towards a prolonged capture of the city, where a scenario similar to Pokrovsk can be partially traced." At the same time, the Russians "are leveling the settlement itself and turning it into a complete ruin," which will be difficult to hold over time.
DeepState notes that the Russian army does not consider losses, but a similar situation occurred in Pokrovsk, when despite heavy losses, the Russians managed to occupy the city. "In Pokrovsk, they also lost a lot of infantry, which was constantly mentioned in the Ukrainian information space, but ultimately they captured Pokrovsk, and we also lost a colossal number of people," the publication states.
DeepState calls Konstantinovka the "gateway" for a breakthrough into the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
Literally: "When Konstantinovka falls (and it is a matter of time), the next will be Druzhkivka, which currently plays an extremely important logistical role, and after that, Kramatorsk.
As soon as Konstantinovka comes under enemy control, logistics for the Defense Forces in this area will change radically, additional difficulties will arise with any movements, and even being in Kramatorsk will become extremely dangerous, as enemy pilots will already be operating there.
Next, the RF Armed Forces will need to open another "gateway" to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
Background:
On June 12, the media reported that at least a hundred Russians had penetrated Konstantinovka, and the Defense Forces are recording the enemy's presence in the city center.
In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commenting on the situation in Konstantinovka, they state that it is not critical.
Thus, the commander of the 19th Army Corps, Brigadier General Oleksandr Bakulin, stated on the national telethon that approximately 123 Russian servicemen are likely in the city of Konstantinovka.
At the same time, the general noted that the situation in Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka is not identical. "To say that the enemy controls something specifically in Konstantinovka at this moment is premature and exaggerated," emphasized Bakulin.
