Donald Trump announced that the U.S. would send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland.
Poland is preparing for an increase in the presence of American troops, Polish Radio reports in Russian.
"We are preparing Poland for an increased presence of American troops. Important and good decisions for Poland are ahead," said the head of Poland's Ministry of Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak.
Earlier, he stated that he had submitted an official proposal to U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper to establish a new permanent base for American troops in Poland. Later, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. would send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland. According to him, this decision was made based on good relations with President Karol Nawrocki.
Karol Nawrocki is traveling to Washington at the invitation of Donald Trump.
