The signing of a peace agreement between the USA and Iran will take place on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland, announced Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The information about the deal was confirmed by US President Donald Trump.

The USA and Iran will sign a peace agreement on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland, announced Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who is mediating the negotiations between the countries, on his account on Sunday evening, June 14.

He thanked both sides "for their commitment to seeking a diplomatic solution to the conflict" and expressed gratitude to Qatar for its mediation, as well as to Saudi Arabia and Turkey "for their tremendous contributions in this regard."

"Now that the agreement has been reached, the mediators will organize a series of meetings this week. These discussions, preceding the implementation of the agreement, will lay the groundwork for technical negotiations and the official signing ceremony," concluded Sharif.

Trump Announces Lifting of US Blockade on the Strait of Hormuz and Deal with Iran

US President Donald Trump published a post on his social media platform Truth Social, assuring that the peace deal with Iran "is now concluded." Along with this, the head of the White House ordered the lifting of the US Navy blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.

"I hereby authorize the opening of the Strait of Hormuz for the free passage of vessels and at the same time order the immediate lifting of the naval blockade by the US Navy. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!" wrote Trump.

US Vice President James D. Vance stated that he plans to attend the signing of the agreement in Geneva. According to him, the American leader himself may also be present at the meeting of the delegations.

The US-Iran Agreement Will Also Affect Lebanon, Pakistan Assures

In his statement regarding the conclusion of the deal between the USA and Iran, Shahbaz Sharif noted that "both sides announced an immediate and final cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon."

The extension of the peace agreement's scope to Lebanon remained a significant point of the deal for Iran. Fighting in the country is conducted by Israel, explaining it as a struggle against the terrorist group "Hezbollah," which is supported by Tehran.

On June 14, Israel once again carried out airstrikes on areas of Beirut controlled by "Hezbollah," justifying them as a response to attacks by terrorists. Trump criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the attack on a "significant day." "Bibi (Netanyahu - Ed.) should not have done this," the US president was quoted by The Wall Street Journal. "I didn’t like it at all. They ("Hezbollah" - Ed.) fired a couple of small rockets but missed the target by a wide margin."

Iranian Foreign Ministry Talks About Signing a Memorandum

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabadi confirmed the signing of agreements with the USA. According to him, the parties will sign a "memorandum of understanding."

Garibabadi stated that negotiations for a final peace agreement will take place within 60 days after this, and during this time Iran will monitor the implementation of the memorandum's provisions, "keeping a finger on the trigger."

Trump, for his part, called the signing of such an agreement something that "no one has managed to achieve before him." "Regional leaders have found a president capable of helping them achieve genuine peace for the first time," wrote the US president on the Truth Social platform.
