The Russian Ministry of Energy has officially acknowledged for the first time that attacks by Ukrainian drones on energy infrastructure facilities have led to fuel supply disruptions in certain regions of the country. To stabilize the situation, authorities have created a special operational group.

Russia has acknowledged the emergence of fuel supply problems following a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones on oil and gas industry facilities.

As reported on Monday by the Russian Ministry of Energy, enterprises in the fuel and energy complex have faced an increase in aerial attacks, leading to temporary difficulties in fuel supplies in several southern regions of the country.

A special operational group has been established to coordinate work with energy companies, tasked with ensuring stable fuel supply across the entire territory of Russia.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak indirectly mentioned issues in the sector. Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, he acknowledged that oil production volumes have fallen below planned levels. According to him, one of the reasons was unscheduled repair work at industry facilities.

Previously, restrictions on gasoline sales had already been imposed in the annexed Crimea and in the occupied territory of Luhansk region.

An additional indication of the tense situation in the market was the Russian government's decision to impose an export ban on kerosene for the first time. Currently, the restrictions are set to last until the end of November.

In recent months, Ukraine has regularly struck Russian oil refineries, oil depots, and other energy infrastructure facilities with drones. Kyiv claims that such attacks are aimed at reducing the supply capabilities of the Russian army and decreasing Russia's revenue from energy resource exports, which are used to finance the war against Ukraine.
