Гуантанамо с воздуха - просто Америка какая-то.

The harbor of the naval base can accommodate up to 50 large ships.

Military delegations from Cuba and the United States positively assessed the outcomes of a meeting held in Guantanamo in the eastern part of the island, dedicated to security issues in the area surrounding the perimeter of the American naval base. This was reported on Friday by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba (FAR).

According to the Cuban statement, the negotiations involved U.S. Southern Command Chief General Francis L. Donovan, as well as the First Deputy Minister of the Armed Forces and Chief of the General Staff of FAR, Army Corps General Roberto Legra Sotolongo.

The U.S. Southern Command, in turn, noted on the social network X that the visit discussed issues related to the protection of personnel, ensuring the safety of military personnel and their families, as well as operational readiness in cooperation with representatives of the American military facility.

The statement also emphasized that the naval base in Guantanamo Bay is a "key operational-logistical hub" for Washington's military activities in the region.

This meeting took place a few weeks after contacts between Cuban and American authorities. On May 15, Havana reported on negotiations held in the Cuban capital with an American delegation led by Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe — the visit was initiated by Washington and approved by the Cuban leadership.

According to official information released by the Cuban side, the contacts that took place clearly demonstrated that Cuba "does not pose a threat to U.S. national security" and that "there are no valid reasons" for keeping the island on the American list of countries allegedly supporting terrorism.

Cuban authorities once again confirmed their "unconditional condemnation" of terrorism and expressed readiness, together with the American side, to expand bilateral cooperation between law enforcement agencies to strengthen regional security and stability.

The Guantanamo Bay Naval Base (Spanish: Base Naval de la Bahía de Guantánamo) is a naval base leased by the U.S. in 1903 after the Spanish-American War, located in Guantanamo Bay (Cuba), 30 km from the city of the same name. It is the southernmost deep-water naval base of the U.S. in the Western Hemisphere. The base also houses a prison of the same name.

The total area of the naval base is approximately 117 square kilometers, corresponding to a rectangle measuring 9×13 km. Additionally, the United States has the right to use 37 square kilometers of the water surface of Guantanamo Bay.

The harbor of the naval base can accommodate up to 50 large ships. On land, there are over 1,500 service and residential facilities, a mechanized port, ship repair workshops, a floating dock, food, ammunition, and fuel storage facilities. Approximately 10,000 military personnel are permanently stationed here. To ensure normal living conditions for the contingent, the base has a developed infrastructure, including entertainment venues, clubs, tennis courts, baseball fields, swimming pools, beaches, a racetrack, fishing boats, and yachts.
