In terms of the number of Schengen visas issued, Russia ranks fourth in the world!
Last year, Russians received 619,000 Schengen visas. This is according to data published by the European Commission. Only citizens of China, Turkey, and India were issued more visas, reports Deutsche Welle.
Before the pandemic and the war, in 2019, Russia was the leader in the number of Schengen visas issued - over 4 million.
In 2025, Germany issued about 23,500 visas to Russians (in 2019 there were over 300,000), France issued 157,000 visas, and Italy issued over 160,000.
