Threats from Russia to the Baltic states are unacceptable, and Europe will respond to them united and resolutely, stated the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday.
"Public threats from Russia to the Baltic states are completely unacceptable," Leyen wrote on the platform 'X'.
"To be absolutely clear. A threat to one member state is a threat to our entire union," emphasized the President of the European Commission.
She pointed out that "Russia and Belarus bear direct responsibility for the drones that threaten the lives and safety of people on our eastern flank."
"Europe will respond united and resolutely. We will continue to strengthen the security of our eastern flank with strong collective defense and readiness at all levels," Leyen added.
As reported, recently drones, often Ukrainian drones launched at targets in Russia, have been entering the airspace of the Baltic states, but their course has been altered by Russia using electronic warfare means, directing them towards the Baltic countries.
Bb.lv has already reported that the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) this week spread false claims that Ukraine is allegedly preparing strikes on the rear regions of Russia from the territory of the Baltic states and that Ukrainian soldiers have allegedly already been sent to Latvia.
