French President Emmanuel Macron put on a musical performance during his visit to Yerevan, singing a classic French chanson, while Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accompanied him on drums. This was reported by the DPA agency, as noted by "European Truth."
During a state banquet on Monday evening, Macron performed "La Bohème," a famous song by French chansonnier and poet Charles Aznavour. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan played the drums. Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan also joined the performance, playing a few notes with one hand on the piano alongside the pianist.
The banquet in the Armenian capital took place after a meeting of nearly 40 European prime ministers and presidents. On Monday, the country hosted the summit of the European Political Community.
At an informal dinner on Sunday evening, Pashinyan had already surprised the leaders with a performance by his band, playing the drums.
Charles Aznavour, one of the most famous French chanson singers, was born in Paris in 1924 to Armenian immigrant parents and maintained close ties with Armenia.
In January, Pashinyan announced the formation of his musical group and invited everyone to their first performance.
