Former New York Mayor and Donald Trump's associate, Rudy Giuliani, has been hospitalized and is in critical but stable condition. This was reported by CNN, citing his representative.
Former lawyer and associate of U.S. President Donald Trump, ex-Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani is in the hospital in critical but stable condition, CNN reports, citing Giuliani's representative Ted Goodman.
"Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he is fighting with that same strength now," Goodman stated.
Goodman's statement did not specify why the 81-year-old Giuliani is in the hospital.
On Friday, Giuliani told viewers of his show America's Mayor Live on X that "his voice has let him down a bit, so he won't be able to speak as loudly as usual." During the broadcast, he was coughing.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that Giuliani is a "true warrior and the best mayor in the history of New York." He added that Giuliani is "in critical condition."
Giuliani, Trump's former lawyer, whose leadership of New York after the September 11, 2001 attacks earned him the nickname "America's Mayor," has faced a number of legal and financial issues following the 2020 election.
He has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges brought against him by the state related to an election interference scheme in Arizona.
Last June, Donald Trump appointed him to the advisory council of the Department of Homeland Security.
The reasons for his hospitalization have not been disclosed.
