Ukrainian drones attacked the oil refinery and terminal in the port of Tuapse on the Black Sea coast in Russia again on Friday night, media reports, citing LETA and DPA.
This is the fourth strike by Ukrainian drones on the oil infrastructure in Tuapse in the last two weeks.
The online publication "Kyiv Independent" reports that fires caused by drone strikes have been ongoing at the oil refinery for several days.
The Russian news agency TASS reports that more than 100 firefighters are involved in combating the fires.
Previous attacks by Ukrainian drones on April 16, 20, and 28 caused significant damage. Most of the tanks have burned down, and the infrastructure intended for transferring oil to vessels has also been damaged.
Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the situation in Tuapse only after the third attack, acknowledging potential environmental risks but adding - according to the governor of the region - that "there are no serious threats." At the same time, observers warn of the threat of an environmental disaster, writes DW.
