In the USA, Trump's portrait will be placed on the passport cover

In the USA, a series of passports featuring the portrait of the current president Donald Trump will be released for the 250th anniversary of independence. They will be issued in Washington. It is unknown how many such passports are planned to be issued.

In the United States of America, a series of passports featuring the current president Donald Trump will be released in honor of the 250th anniversary of the country's independence, writes DW. Such identification documents will be issued by default by the passport agency in the U.S. capital, Washington, D.C., the State Department announced on Tuesday, April 28. They clarified that when obtaining a passport online or at another office, a standard design document will be issued.

According to the published passport layout, the inner side of the front cover will feature Trump's face and his signature in gold letters. The back cover will display a fragment of the painting by American artist John Trumbull, "The Declaration of Independence." It is unknown how many of these identification documents are planned to be issued.

In the standard design, the inner side of the cover of U.S. passports features a painting by another American artist, Edward Percy Moran. It depicts the author of the U.S. national anthem, Francis Scott Key, after the bombardment of Fort McHenry in Baltimore by British troops—an event that inspired Key to create his most famous work.

Where else will Trump's portrait and signature appear

On March 26, it became known that the signature of the current president will appear on one-hundred-dollar bills that will be issued for the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. The signature of the head of the White House will replace the treasurer's signature on the bills for the first time in 165 years.

The U.S. Commission of Fine Arts approved the release of a 24-karat gold coin featuring the current president standing at a table with clenched fists and the inscription "Liberty." In October 2025, the Trump administration fired all members of this commission and appointed loyalists to the head of the White House in their place.

Previously, the State Department named the U.S. Institute of Peace after Trump, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington received a new name—the "Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts." The head of the White House also announced plans to build two new class "Trump" military ships for the U.S. Navy, equipped with the latest weapons.
