A residential building and a hotel were damaged as a result of the Russian attack on Odesa. Preliminary reports indicate that 13 people were injured.
Russian troops launched massive strikes on Odesa overnight on Monday, April 27, using UAVs. As a result, several buildings, civilian infrastructure, and vehicles were damaged, local authorities reported. According to Ukrainian monitoring channels, about 50 drones were launched over the city, writes DW.
According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, local fires broke out in several areas of the city due to the drone crashes. "Damage to civilian infrastructure has been recorded, including two residential buildings, a hotel, storage facilities, and vehicles," the official wrote on his Telegram channel.
The head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, stated that at least 13 people were injured as a result of the attack. Shortly after reports from authorities about the first wave of strikes, an air raid alert was again declared in the region.
Russia Has Been Striking Odesa for Several Nights in a Row
The night before, Russian forces also launched drones at Odesa en masse - in the morning of April 26, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported shooting down 124 out of 144 drones. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba stated that the city’s port and logistics infrastructure came under fire.
Odesa was also attacked by Russia on the night of April 25 and the night of April 24. Most often, reports of the consequences of the strikes mentioned damage to port infrastructure. Additionally, drones hit ships located near Odesa. For instance, during the attack on April 24, a commercial vessel flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, heading to one of the ports in the region, was damaged.
Sumy Region and Dnipro Also Came Under Fire
In the Romenska community of the Sumy region, residential houses and transport infrastructure were damaged on the evening of April 26, while in the Sumy community, residential buildings and critical infrastructure were affected, reported the head of the local OVA, Oleg Hryhorov. In both cases, there were no casualties.
On the same day, authorities in the Dnipropetrovsk region reported a Russian attack with drones and artillery. According to the head of the regional OVA, Oleksandr Hanji, the Nikopol, Kamensky, and Synelnykove districts were under fire. Among the damages were enterprises, infrastructure facilities, private and multi-story residential buildings. At least three people were injured.
