U.S. President Donald Trump made a shocking statement about the critical state of Iran's oil infrastructure, predicting its imminent explosion due to the American blockade and the impossibility of full recovery.
President Trump emphasized the "incredible effectiveness" of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz carried out by American forces. This measure has completely deprived Iran of revenue. The country's oil system, through which colossal volumes of raw materials pass, is facing a critical problem: Tehran is deprived of tankers, and the reservoirs are overflowing, which will inevitably lead to an explosion.
"Then there is an internal explosion of this system - both mechanically and in the depths of the earth. Something happens that causes it to simply explode. They say they have about three days left until that moment. And when it happens, restoring the system to its former state will be impossible. Even if it is restored, it will be at most about 50% of the current level," President Trump stated.
The U.S. leader also made a number of other important statements regarding Iran and the negotiation process. He emphasized that the United States has destroyed the Iranian navy, air force, air defense systems, as well as the country's leaders. According to him, missile production facilities have been damaged by 75%, and drone manufacturing plants by 80-82%.
President Trump expressed confidence that the war with Iran will soon end in a complete victory for the United States. He also stated that Washington is stopping its delegations from going to Pakistan for negotiations with Iran. However, if Tehran is ready for dialogue, its representatives can come to the U.S. or contact by phone.
In Trump's opinion, Washington has "all the trump cards" in this confrontation. He insists that Iran must not possess nuclear weapons, otherwise any meetings lose their meaning.
The President also expressed deep disappointment in NATO, noting that the Alliance did not support the U.S. "We spend trillions of dollars on the Alliance to protect Europe from Russia. But the U.S. has always been and will always be there, as the alliance cannot cope without Washington," Trump is quoted as saying.
Chronicle of the Conflict
The military operation launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iran on February 28 lasted for more than a month. In early April, President Donald Trump threatened to destroy civilization but then agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran. This period was subsequently extended.
Despite the ceasefire, the parties were unable to reach an agreement, and the negotiations scheduled for the coming days fell through. At the same time, media reports have emerged regarding Washington's losses in this conflict.
In particular, the NYT reported that since the beginning of military operations, the U.S. has expended about 1,100 Tomahawk cruise missiles. These missiles were originally intended for a potential conflict with China.
