Bloomberg: Orban Told Putin a Tale about a Lion and a Mouse.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, during a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in October 2025, told him a popular tale from his country about a lion and a mouse. This was reported by Bloomberg citing a transcript of the conversation.
In particular, the head of the Hungarian government recounted a folk legend about how a mouse freed a lion caught in a net, just as the "king of beasts" once saved the life of the rodent. According to Orban, this tale symbolizes the relationship between Moscow and Budapest.
"Yesterday our friendship reached such a high level that I can help in any way (...) In any matter where I can be of assistance, I am at your service," the Prime Minister added.
