At 54, Kirstjen has seen both her career and personal life destroyed.
Former head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen, has found herself at the center of a scandal following the publication of materials claiming that her husband, Bryon Noem, leads a double life, dressing in women's clothing and communicating online with fetish models.
"Mrs. Noem is shocked. The family has been taken by surprise and is now asking for privacy and prayers," writes the New York Post. The scandal was sparked by a report from the British tabloid Daily Mail. According to its data, Bryon Noem had been corresponding with women from the fetish community of "bimbofication," where adult models achieve a "Barbie doll" appearance through extreme silicone breast augmentation. The publication claims that Noem's husband admired their "heavily augmented" appearance and confessed that he dreams of having a "huge, absurdly large breast."
The publication also presents allegedly leaked images where a man, identified as Bryon Noem, poses in pink tight shorts and a skin-colored suit, with balloons under his clothing simulating excessively large and asymmetrical breasts with "protruding nipples."
Experts in national security interviewed by the Daily Mail expressed the opinion that such personal secrets of her spouse could create vulnerabilities for Kirstjen Noem in terms of potential blackmail, especially considering her recent status as a high-ranking federal official. Noem was resigned from her position as head of the Department of Homeland Security in early March.
Kirstjen and Bryon Noem have been married since 1992 and have three children: daughters Cassidy (31) and Kennedy (29), as well as son Booker (23). Both daughters have already become parents themselves. In an interview in 2022, Noem emphasized that their family is "extremely open" and lives "like an open book," actively showcasing their personal life.
Previously, questions regarding their marriage had also arisen for Kirstjen amid rumors of her close relationship with Donald Trump's longtime associate Corey Lewandowski. While married, he regularly accompanied her to public events, including sitting next to her at a meeting with the President of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, in that South American country in early March. Their joint appearance came shortly after Noem faced intense questioning in the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee regarding her alleged affair with Lewandowski. During the hearings, she evaded direct answers, while her husband was present in the hearing room directly behind her.
