Politico: France is preparing for a military economy and increasing its arsenal.
France plans to significantly increase its arsenal as part of a new defense buildup program and is preparing for a military economy. This is reported by Politico, citing a draft law on military planning.
According to the document, France intends to increase its stockpiles of missiles and drones by 400 percent by 2030, and is also considering the development of a new tank.
"These efforts are reflected in increased orders and deliveries, as well as in the adaptation of industrial infrastructure through co-financing of priority production capacities. They are being carried out with the aim of preparing for a 'military economy'," the draft law states.
On April 8, the French government will present an updated military planning law, which will allocate 8.5 billion euros for drones and missiles by 2030.
As the publication notes, the targets regarding drones and missiles are "mind-blowing." France aims to increase its stockpiles of loitering munitions, such as kamikaze drones, by 400 percent, guided bombs AASM Hammer produced by Safran by 240 percent, and Aster and Mica missiles produced by MBDA by 30 percent.
