Slovak Prime Minister Fico stated that the European Commission is in collusion with Zelensky.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that the European Commission (EC) may have conspired with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to halt the Druzhba oil pipeline.
"Madam President of the EC [Ursula von der Leyen], I ask you very seriously: 'Are you, the entire European Commission, so incapacitated?' No one really takes you seriously anymore. Can't you even agree on an inspection with a group of three or four people to go and inspect this pipeline? Or are you doing this intentionally, having conspired with (...) Zelensky?" he exclaimed.
Fico expressed confidence that the European Commission is in collusion with the Ukrainian leader. In his opinion, the EC has the necessary leverage over Zelensky but refuses to apply it.
On March 24, Fico stated that the European Commission is not pressuring Zelensky regarding the restoration of the Druzhba oil pipeline because hatred towards Russia has proven to be "stronger than common sense."
