WSJ: Iran Fears Negotiations with the US Could Be a Trap.

Iranian authorities are concerned that any negotiations with the US to end the conflict could turn out to be a trap. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) citing sources.

"In particular, officials in Tehran are worried that any personal negotiations to end the war could lead to an assassination attempt on [Iranian Parliament Speaker] Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf (...). So far, he remains one of the few high-ranking Iranian leaders who has managed to avoid Israeli strikes," Iranian officials and their Arab counterparts stated.

Additionally, the publication's sources indicated that they view US President Donald Trump's statements about negotiations as nothing more than an attempt to lower oil prices after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
