Trump warned NATO over the refusal to ensure the security of the Hormuz Strait.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that NATO faces a bleak future if the member countries do not respond to Washington's requests for help in ensuring the security of the Hormuz Strait. He expressed this in an interview with The Financial Times.

Trump warned that if there is no response from NATO countries or if it is negative, he believes that "it will be very bad for the future of NATO." At the same time, the American leader doubted that the allies in the bloc would come to the aid of the U.S.

"I have been saying for a long time: we will come to their aid, but they will not come to ours — and I am not sure they will really help," he predicted.

Earlier, Trump called on China, France, Japan, Korea, and Britain to send military ships to secure the Hormuz Strait. One of these countries has already declined his request.
