German Chancellor Friedrich Merz responded to the threats made by U.S. President Donald Trump against NATO. He stated this at a press conference in Berlin.
"I would like us to treat each other with the necessary respect within the alliance. Further escalation of hostilities would pose serious risks for our partners in the Middle East," he said.
The politician reminded that NATO is a defensive alliance, and the war with Iran needs to be ended "as soon as possible."
