At least 10 ships in the Persian Gulf have started to disguise themselves as Chinese to avoid Iranian attacks.
This was reported by the FT publication.
It is specified that the ships changed their transponder data, indicating that they belong to China or have a Chinese crew. In particular, the identification system states "Chinese owner", "All Chinese crew" and "Chinese crew onboard".
Also, some ships manipulate GPS signals to confuse missile guidance systems. As a result, they appear on monitoring service maps in one location.
