The U.S. hockey player became a victim of artificial intelligence.

A new scandal has emerged following Trump's meeting with the U.S. hockey team: the captain of the Ottawa Senators accused the White House of distorting his words using AI.

As reported by Deutsche Welle, the official TikTok of the White House published a video on Sunday featuring U.S. forward Brady Tkachuk, who allegedly talks about Canadian hockey players: "They booed our anthem, so I had to teach those ***, who eat maple syrup, a lesson." The video, which is marked as being created with AI, has garnered over 11 million views.

"This is clearly fake - that’s not my voice, my lips don’t move like that. I don’t control these accounts, so I can’t do anything about it. I would never say that - I never even thought of it," Tkachuk commented on the video to journalists, who plays for the hockey club in the capital of Canada.

Additionally, Tkachuk distanced himself from another viral incident: he was accused online of shouting "Close the northern border" during Trump's congratulatory call to the team after their victory. This call also sparked controversy: Trump stated that he would be impeached if he did not invite the women's team, which also won gold. The women's team ultimately declined the invitation.

Both the U.S. men’s and women’s teams won their finals against their Canadian opponents with identical scores of 2-1 at the 2026 Olympic hockey tournament. Both decisive goals were scored in overtime. After this, Trump posted an AI video on his social media, in which he, dressed in a suit with a red tie, participates in the men's final, including applying power moves against the Canadians.
