UN Secretary-General Guterres: the rule of law gives way to the rule of force.
In today's world, human rights are under a full-scale attack. This statement was made by the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) António Guterres, as reported by Reuters.
"The rule of law is forced to give way to the rule of force," he said.
The UN Secretary-General refers to violations of international law and the mistreatment of civilians during conflicts in the Gaza Strip and Ukraine.
Earlier, the director of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Balázs Orbán, noted that the European Union (EU) turns a blind eye to serious human rights violations in Ukraine. Because of this, he said, it is impossible to talk about Ukraine's accession to the European Union even in the medium term.
