The President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, was not given the floor at the opening of the book fair in Vilnius. This was reported by the national public broadcasting company of Lithuania, LRT, on its Telegram channel.
The motives for this decision were voiced back in September, when the Minister of Culture became the representative of the 'Dawn of Nyamunas' party, Ignas Adomavičius. This decision sparked protests in the cultural community," noted in the publication.
Adomavičius caused a scandal in Lithuania by refusing to answer the question 'Whose Crimea?' The head of the department referred to the fact that this question is not within the competence of his agency, but this caused discontent in the government of the republic.
