UAE made a statement opposing a possible US strike on Iran.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) stated that it will not allow the use of its airspace, territory, or territorial waters for attacks against Iran. This was reported in a statement by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, published on the official website of the agency.
"The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms its commitment to the principle of not allowing its airspace, territory, and waters to be used in any hostile military actions against Iran, as well as the principle of not providing any material or technical support in this regard," the statement reads.
The ministry emphasized that only "dialogue, de-escalation, adherence to international law, and respect for state sovereignty" are the most effective ways to resolve conflicts.
Earlier, it became known that Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has taken refuge in an underground bunker consisting of several tunnels in Tehran. It is reported that this decision was made amid warnings from high-ranking officials of the security services and the army about the increased risks of a strike against the country by the US.
