China Issues Stern Call to the U.S. Over Greenland 0 10

Beijing urges the United States to stop using the "Chinese threat" as a justification for its actions regarding Greenland. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Geng Shuang.

"We call on the U.S. to stop using the so-called 'Chinese threat' as a pretext for pursuing its own interests," said the diplomat, commenting on the situation surrounding the island.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed NATO and Denmark, demanding to "remove" Russia and China from Greenland, which allegedly have military ambitions regarding the island. He noted that the territory "cannot be defended by two dog sleds."

Shortly thereafter, Trump announced the imposition of tariffs against several European countries due to the situation surrounding Greenland. According to him, the trade tariffs will remain in effect until an agreement on the "complete and final acquisition" of the island is reached.
