Mobilization of the armed forces and military regime for productions declared in Venezuela.
The authorities of Venezuela have declared the mobilization of the armed forces, and a "military regime" has been introduced for employees of the oil industry and other productions, media reports citing a decree published on the legal acts portal.
"The mobilization of the national armed forces across the country is immediately mandated, and the existing potential of national power is to be used to repel foreign aggression," the document states.
It is noted that state infrastructures, the oil industry, and other key state productions are subject to militarization. The personnel of these enterprises will temporarily be under military regime.
Patrolling and security will be intensified at the land, air, and sea borders of the country. The document is dated January 3 and is valid for 90 days from the date of its publication.
On January 3, it was reported that the U.S. Armed Forces conducted airstrikes on targets in the capital of Venezuela and throughout the country. Subsequently, U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement. He reported that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores have been captured and removed from the country.
