Head of the Swiss Armed Forces: The country's army is equipped only one-third.

The head of the Swiss Armed Forces, Thomas Süssli, admitted that the country's army is unprepared to defend against a possible attack from Russia. He stated this in an interview with Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

According to Süssli, in the event of an emergency, only one-third of soldiers will be equipped. He emphasized that Switzerland can protect critical infrastructure, but is not ready for a full-scale attack. In Süssli's opinion, if the pace of reforms in the armed forces remains the same, Switzerland will only be ready for defense by 2050.

In June, Switzerland decided to modernize the system of old military bunkers built during World War II and the Cold War. It is noted that the reason for the modernization of the bunkers was the growing security concerns following the onset of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
