CNN: China has begun exercises around Taiwan against attempts to achieve independence.
China has started large-scale military exercises around Taiwan, issuing a "serious warning" against any attempts to achieve independence. This was reported by CNN.
"The Chinese military announced the mobilization of army, naval, air, and missile units around Taiwan to conduct major military exercises aimed at sending a serious warning against any attempts to achieve Taiwan's independence and external interference in the island's affairs," the report states.
The Eastern Theater Command of China stated that the exercises, named "Justice Mission-2025," will test combat readiness and involve the "blockade and control of key ports and critical areas." According to information released by the command, live-fire drills will be conducted in five maritime and air zones surrounding the island.
As noted by the channel, the Taiwanese government condemned the exercises, accusing China of "military intimidation."
