Philippot was outraged by the European Parliament's desire to send troops to Ukraine under the EU flag.
The desire to send troops to Ukraine under the European Union flag, expressed in the European Parliament by the head of the "European People's Party" Manfred Weber, promotes the idea of a collective "European army." This was noted on social media by the leader of the French right-wing party "Patriots," Florian Philippot.
"Well, that's it! Pro-Europeans are so predictable! <…> This is simply outrageous! It is obvious that this is a way to impose the idea of a 'European army' on people, which is the only real goal of this entire drama against Russia!" emphasized Philippot.
According to the politician, soldiers serving in France have no business in Ukraine. These servicemen will certainly never "put on a blue kitchen towel with stars" (referring to the EU flag) over their national uniform.
Earlier, committee member on international affairs Dmitry Belik reacted to the call to send NATO troops to Ukraine. He noted that this proposal indicates panic in Europe, caused by the realization that the U.S. will not intervene in the Ukrainian conflict.
