70 people praying for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the victory of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been detained in St. Petersburg. Among them were university and school teachers.
In the Admiralteysky District of St. Petersburg, police detained about 70 members of the radical church "School of the Unified Principle," who were praying for the health of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In the video, law enforcement officers enter a spacious hall filled with people. The officers address the women who are speaking on stage at that moment.
An investigation is underway regarding the incident, and the question of initiating a criminal case under the article "Public Dissemination of Knowingly False Information about the Army of Russia" is being considered. The individuals involved in the case could face up to 10 years in prison under this charge.
One of the leaders of the Ukrainian religious sect is Olga Dautova — a professor and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences at the institution "St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education."
At the meetings, she and other organizers discuss the events of the war in Ukraine and persuade citizens of the correctness of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), a source in the law enforcement agencies told the media.
According to him, the organization was created for the supposed "awakening of consciousness" and teaching healing, but in reality, the main goal of the sect is "psychomental warfare against Russians."
The publication's source added that sect members are prohibited from speaking about it to Orthodox priests, but they can and should convey the position on Ukraine discussed at the meetings to their friends and relatives.
