The leader of the Russian opposition, Garry Kasparov, believes that the head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, will inevitably attack Europe, and this will happen quite soon. According to Kasparov, Putin may decide to attack as early as next year, as his window of opportunity is limited, writes LA.LV.
Most likely, the head of the Kremlin believes that the Baltic countries are vulnerable and therefore easy prey, which, in his view, means that capturing them will not require much strength or resources. In any case, Putin will remain an active participant in the war until the U.S. government changes. Such thoughts were shared by Garry Kasparov with the audience of the 'Forum of Free Russia' channel on YouTube, as quoted by the Dialog.ru portal.
The opposition leader named the countries that could become the next 'victims' of Putin: 'All actions of the Russian government — from propaganda to economic — are aimed at war. This means that the war must expand precisely because Putin has no other way to compensate for the complete collapse of the Russian economy and social life. Therefore, war is the answer. The question is when and where?'
'The most likely target is, of course, the Baltic countries. They are the closest to Russia and objectively quite small. Putin may think that no one will come to their aid, although the situation is changing now, and it is clear that some NATO countries are ready to help,' Kasparov believes.
He emphasizes: 'The most important thing is that Putin needs to act while America is paralyzed, because according to the pendulum law, just as Trump replaced Joe Biden, the next president of America will be a Democrat in the style of Truman — a Democrat whose main goal will be to restore the prestige of the U.S. in the world.'
'I don’t know what risk he will be willing to take,' Kasparov says. 'But Putin will definitely get hit — America has infinitely many such opportunities. It is clear that if the Americans start to 'play seriously,' everything will change very quickly, so Putin will be in a hurry, and I have no doubt about that. 2027 or perhaps even 2026. It is unclear who will stop him,' Kasparov added.
