Shmyhal: Portugal will allocate 50 million euros for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine.
Portugal will allocate 50 million euros for the purchase of weapons for Kyiv under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program. This was stated by Ukraine's Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"I expressed my sincere gratitude to Portugal for the assistance," he said.
It is specified that the PURL program was launched on July 14 by U.S. President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Within its framework, allies of the North Atlantic Alliance are purchasing weapons from American stockpiles.
Earlier, Shmyhal stated that 15 Western countries have made new commitments regarding Kyiv for 2026. According to him, Germany is expected to play the largest role.
