Russian drones attacked the Cherkasy and Sumy regions of Ukraine on the night of Thursday, December 18, local authorities reported. Damage to infrastructure and at least one injured person have been recorded.
The Sumy community was attacked by two strike UAVs, wrote the head of the regional military administration (OVA) Oleg Grigorov on Telegram. As a result, civilian infrastructure was damaged in the Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy, with windows shattered in residential and non-residential buildings. According to preliminary reports, there are no fatalities. At least one person was injured.
In the Cherkasy region, a strike was recorded on the regional center. There are "consequences for infrastructure," informed the head of the Cherkasy OVA Igor Taburets. He did not provide details of the attack; however, local media reported explosions in Cherkasy and power outages in the city.
Casualties in Kryvyi Rih and Odesa
In the evening of December 17, the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region was also subjected to a drone attack. As a result of the Shahed drone strikes, there were hits in the residential sector, wrote the head of the Defense Council of Kryvyi Rih Alexander Vilkul on Telegram. According to him, there are casualties, and an emergency rescue operation is underway.
In the Odesa region, on the evening of the same day, damage to a residential building and an educational institution was recorded due to the attack by Russian UAVs. Seven people were injured, reported the head of the Odesa OVA Oleg Kiper on the night of December 18. According to him, six of the injured received assistance on the spot. Another person was hospitalized in moderate condition.
