Charges Filed Against Members of Neo-Nazi Cell in Germany

Most of the arrested are teenagers. The group they joined began operating in 2024.

On Thursday, the federal prosecutor of Germany filed charges against eight suspects for their involvement in a far-right extremist terrorist group, which, according to the investigation, aimed to destabilize the country's democratic system by carrying out attacks on migrants and political opponents.

Charges have been brought against seven alleged members and one supporter of the neo-Nazi group "Last Wave of Defense," some of whom are teenagers. They are accused of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and causing serious bodily harm.

Most of the teenagers were arrested in May. With the exception of one suspect who was released in July, all others are in pre-trial detention.

In a statement from the federal prosecutor's office, it was noted that this group was founded in May 2024 and its members planned and carried out arson and explosions at the homes of asylum seekers and institutions associated with the left wing of politics.
