Babiš: The Czech Republic will not take on guarantees for financing Ukraine.
The Czech Republic will not take on guarantees for financing Ukraine. This was stated by the elected Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, in a video address published on social media X.
"We will not take any guarantees and we will not invest any money," the politician emphasized.
The new Prime Minister also stressed that the European Commission should develop other ways to finance Ukraine. According to Babiš, the Czech Republic's "treasury is empty," and for its citizens, "every crown counts."
Earlier, Babiš stated that the assistance provided to Ukraine should be based on a clear plan for achieving peace.
On December 11, the Council of the European Union decided on the sixth regular allocation of funds to assist Ukraine, amounting to approximately 2.3 billion euros.
