Colombians have become part of the international front, which, together with Ukrainians, is holding the defense against Russian occupiers, claims the Ukrainian agency Unian.

Thanks to a joint project of the Zaporizhzhia OVA, Brigade Recruitment Centers, and the regional TCC, there is now a real influx of Colombian fighters in the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the Zaporizhzhia OVA, among them are 24-year-old "Mukhа", 27-year-old "Chornyi", and 34-year-old "Bambi" - legionnaires fighting side by side with Ukrainian defenders in the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Velykyi Luh".
"We found a common language with them, they understand us, and we understand them. They perform tasks on par with our guys, spending several weeks at the front line. This helps our warriors to rest," said the chief sergeant of the company with the call sign "Bublyk".
It is noted that thousands of Colombians are already officially serving specifically on the Zaporizhzhia front.
"Here are the best conditions for service and strong combat brotherhood. We leave our dreams, our families, but with one goal - to continue to protect, to fight for this country to be free," said a Colombian soldier with the call sign "Mukhа".
Interestingly, their living conditions in the bunkers are arranged - there is a small kitchen where food is prepared, beds, a generator is installed, and there is a place to dry clothes. "Mukhа" added:
"Right now we are on rest, we just returned from a mission, everything went well. We saved three kittens that we brought from the mission, and they are always with us, nearby, giving us a bit of warmth in this cold. For me, it is a pleasure and pride to be in the Ukrainian army."
It is important that Colombians have become part of the international front, which, together with Ukrainians, is holding the defense against Russian occupiers.
Colombians on the Side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
An investigation by Die Welt reported that Colombians undergo intensive training at a secret training ground before their first rotation to the front line. Training is conducted in Spanish - this facilitates preparation for groups formed from South Americans.
According to Ukrainian sources, about 2,000 Colombians have already arrived in the country as contractors. Some foreigners serve in the International Legion, while others are in regular infantry units. In addition to Colombians, the contingent also includes Chileans and Brazilians. About 40% of foreign fighters arriving in Ukraine come from South America.
