Palestinians deny withdrawal from the peace process.
According to the news outlet "Kan", three days before the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Major General Aharon Haliva, who was then head of the Military Intelligence Directorate, stopped at the military intelligence base "Urim" while heading to Eilat for vacation.
One of the most respected warrant officers serving at "Urim" told the general that he noticed significant activity in Gaza. Haliva responded, "Everything is fine, nothing will happen."
It has been reported that during the hearings of the commission led by Sami Turjeman, which was reviewing the internal investigations conducted by the IDF regarding the events of October 7, Haliva was asked why he ignored this warning. No answer was given to the question.
"Kan" also reports that on the night before the attack, dozens of SIM cards were activated throughout the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, a senior Hamas official, Musa Abu Marzouk, denied in an interview with the Qatari television channel "Al Jazeera" reports about the group's withdrawal from the ceasefire agreement with Israel. "We remain committed to the agreement," he stated.
Reports of Hamas's withdrawal from the agreement were made by Saudi media. They claimed that representatives of the group informed U.S. President's special envoy Stephen Vitkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner about this.
